The Benefits of Being an Athiest Are All Personal.

When I’m writing these post I often think to myself:

“Mertavius what could make being an atheist so fun and exciting?”

And I come to the conclusion that it must be the fact that an atheist can run as wild and free as they want too and not have to worry about any consequences.( The current atheists are very intelligent so I wouldn’t put it past them to be able to get away with whatever crime they want to commit. If atheism became more widespread and they had to take on the idiots who misinterpret the bible like us people of faith have to do. They would probably see why atheism on a widespread level is a bad thing.)

You see the current atheists are very smart and know how to behave. I know for sure if atheist were able to somehow raise their numbers significantly the downfall would be inevitable.

Mertavius, I know people hate when you ask yourself questions but I have to ask anyway, what makes you think the downfall would come if atheism became the dominant ideology?

I can answer that and appreciate the questions keep them coming Mert (haha) but the reason I can say this is because like I allude to in my post A Promoter of Atheism , any atheist will essentially be able to become God( they would probably call it something different as not to give people of religion something to call them out for). What I mean by that is once we do away with morality that is heavily based off religious texts, it would then be up to the individual to decide what is right and what is wrong.

Bottom line, atheism is the best thing you can be if you want to be free of any guilt and moral responsibility.( well Mertavius that’s wrong because my friends are atheist and all of them are morally responsible.) That may be true but once they stop feeling good about treating people the right way, they would have no objection to doing wrong if it made them feel good. The reason I can say this is because atheism is all about self. Unlike religion which holds you accountable to certain moral standards whether you like it or not.

  1. Uh huh. Being worried about your family disowning you doesn’t suck at all. Actually being disowned by your family is, in fact, a great experience. Being ostracized by society at large is the best feeling of all.

    1. take no offense to this question why do you feel you need to tell people your an atheist why not hide it until you get in a position of strength when it woulnt matter if you were accepted or not?

      1. ok that’s fair but you cant blame people for hating you because that’s who they are.

I have a question for you, why do atheist want to ban Christmas from schools?

      2. I can blame people for hating because that’s who they are. Why on earth wouldn’t I be able to blame people for hating because that’s who they are? Nobody has to hate.

As for your second sentence, something of a tangent, I have a question for you: where are the christians vehemently objecting to chocolate bunny rabbits and candy filled eggs in school instead of making little Jesus crosses and nailing him to them?

      3. That’s why they do it in sunday school instead, because they’re not children there.

But that’s beside the point. Easter in schools has nothing to do with the Christian holiday, and yet we hear none of the bitching that Christmas gets for imagined offenses. Keep in mind that Easter is the most important Christian holiday.

  2. You really don’t understand, that the idea, that without god, you would suddenly become a criminal only shows what a horrible person you think you are. Most atheists simply don’t need the fear of big brother “god” to be good persons. So your whole “not have to worry about any consequences” statement is wrong, insulting an reveals much about your own nature. It proves, that you need god to be good, ok, so please do NOT become an atheist, thank you. You decided to stay a child, who needs parents to stop it from doing bad things. Ok. Other people simply grow up.

Atheism is not about feeling good or other benefits. It’s about what you do not believe. End of story.

    1. nice try lol but you can clearly read where it says im not worried about the atheist, im worried about the current knuckleheads who are religious who would go crazy if they all of a sudden had no God to worry about.

      1. Listening to you explain what it means to be an atheist, is like listening to a rich white guy explain what it means to be a poor black guy. You sound ridiculous and arrogant because you don’t know what it is like. However, I sense you are looking for others’ outlook on this matter, so I will happily divulge my thoughts. (I was raised a christian and believed it whole-heartedly for a majority of my life so I know what its like to be on both sides of the argument.)

“The reason I can say this is because atheism is all about self. Unlike religion which holds you accountable to certain moral standards whether you like it or not.”

The problem is religion does not hold you accountable to any moral standard, You are only held accountable by the way you interpret your beliefs.

      2. their is a consensus moral standard that a majority of Christians up hold, so it was possible that at one time it was up to the way you interpreted scripture but for the most part most Christians have similar morals.

Say somethin' Dammit! lol
